Speaking not only with my gardening hat on but just as a casual observer of seasonal changes one of the things I enjoy most in anyone’s garden not just my own is when the first bulbs of spring start to appear as soon as the snow and frost have gone, they herald of course the warmer summer months that are now just a few short weeks away . Also in the fall when putting my garden to bed choosing a few new spring bulbs to squeeze in to my garden here or there is one of my greatest pleasures. Spring bulbs are some of the easiest and lowest maintenance plants in any garden so thought I would like to leave a little list here of a few of my favorites
Allium or ornamental onions are fantastic and showy flowers that come in various shapes and sizes several colors are available and are very easy to grow

Anemone Blanda Spring flowering Bulbs
Anemones are super little spring bulbs perhaps the most popular are . Anemone blanda ( Greek Windflower) is a wonderful small bulb for the rock garden or under deciduous shrubs.can be found in single or doubles and in the greatest array of colours anyone can imagine
Chionodoxa luciliaeare a wonderful small, spreading blue flowering bulb that is excellent in containers or rock gardens.
Corydalis solida is a little damp-soil and shade-lover that will win your heart in the spring. But it comes with a bit of caution, after it has produced its wonderful spring flowers it completely vanishes leaving not a trace of it ever having been there until it returns next spring
Crocus the harbinger of spring is well worth growing in large masses. plant

Eranthis or Winter Aconite is one of the earliest of spring blooming bulbs and it fits nicely into any shade garden.
Erythronium or Dog’s-tooth Violet is a wonderful woodland spring bulb for shade or part shade.
Fritillaria are easy grow bulbs with beautiful flowers but when the bulb is disturbed it can be a pretty stinky plant. needs well-drained location
Galanthus or Snowdrops are an easy bulb for rich soils in dappled shade. They’ll naturalize if happy.
Hyacinthoides is the modern name for Scilla. bluebells These wonderful bulbs are fantastic for growing under shrubs and beneath trees Scilla are a delightful blue spring flowering bulb that can become a little weed proof blue mat .
Iris do indeed come in bulb form as well as perennial (rhizomes) and they are indeed little charmers in the spring garden . Here’s how to grow bulbous iris
Ixiolirion tataricum is a for , hot sunny and dry locations a bulb bulb that resents moisture and being moved but will naturalize if happy.
